{1} Well said Seamus.
{2} In all fairness there is a difference between defending the man and quoting songs that are downright derogatory to a fine lady, and probably sung by morons with room tempertaure I.Qs when their sense of bravado is fuelled by alcohol.
There is no place for politics or tribalism on a football pitch, so at times I think young Mr Mac Cleans actions and statements are hard to justify, they would be best left unsaid.
COYBIG Roll on Sunday I have a great feeling about this, France rolling over {arf} Roumania, Albania and Switzerland has not exactly got me shaking in my boots.

If you have controlled and ruled the world for many many decades you are going to get verbally slapped .
GB and England in particular are made for this, I can understand why some players and their fans have this feeling. The saying goes "you cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs", and lets just say the British empire has been one of the greatest Omelette makers in the world .
If you cannot understand or see what I mean unlucky a decent majority of The Irish The Scottish and The Welsh probably do lets not even talk about India Africa The middle east etc etc.

Yes, let's all have a really mature, sensible debate. That would make for a riveting online forum experience.

McClean gets slaughtered on here. So as he is a proud Irishman who puts his all in to represent his national team and I've met him on a few occasions and think he's bang on, I'll stand up and defend him in here.

I am no fan of the 3rd place situation its stupid.
Big Sour grapes from me maybe but it is not fair or right to leave teams who have already qualified to be the teams with the power that is ridiculous to me.

A shadow of themselves?
Turkey should have put in a complaint that Italy were impersonating a bad under 11's team.
Not only did Turkey get screwed by being put in a group with Spain Croatia and the Czeks but last night they were relying on an Italian team to win or get a draw whilst playing some players who had no right being in any Self respecting Italian team who had absolutely no passion or want to make there fans proud, it was ridiculous and pathetic watching the last 20 minutes of that game and obvious to anyone that understands anything about football that Italy were just going through the motions and choosing to defend deep playing in a way that looked to me like a defending exercise.

I'm on my way back fro Lille - attended the game as a neutral. Spotted a few other hammers there too.
Irish fans were impressive in their numbers and noise across the city and at the game.
As for the match, they were helped by the fact Italy were a shadow of themselves.

Collyrob,
I'm Irish myself & West Ham , I spent a lot of formative years in the east end.
I don't post here often but do pop in from time to time to see what's the general consensus on all WH & the locality
Why do reference McClean on here ?he's a throwback , he needs to move on with his xenophobic wind ups, as should you .if you genuinely feel that way , have a look in the mirror and look up irony in the dictionary and ask yourself what does West Ham stand for ? To me , it's about community and belonging , you seem to have issues with the English , i don't despite the odd clown on here , they know are , McClean in reverse if you like ..
I'm sure there's Celtic forums out there who are a lot more receptive to your views but you won't get a reaction from the knuckle draggers there ..
On a related note ,, I voted IN today in a country that lets me vote and where I earn a fine living in a vibrant city ..
Peace & COYI
